The 750 was (for the times) a big-bore all-around bike while the 400F was a smaller, sportier, more nimble, semi-café bike. The 400F had lower bars, slightly rear-set pegs, a 6-speed transmission, and a stratospheric 10,000 redline. The 750 was big, powerful, and fast, but the 400 was a screamer that was a real hoot to toss around.

My first bike was 79 CB400 with 8000 KM on it, it was beyond mint. Great bike, had the kickstart as well as electric start, however it was a bitch to start when the engine was cold. The electric start wasn't even an option, and i'd spend 5-10mins kicking it. I've heard cold starts on old CB's are commonly tedious.
