I updated the call of duty app on my ps5 and can't play the MW2 campaign offline. I can play MW3 offline both campaign and multiplayer and MW2 multiplayer.

I've heard all options you have in create a class online, you have in split-screen/LAN. Including leveling up and unlocking weapons. From what I've seen/heard you can do everything offline that you can do online including leveling up, making classes,etc. Thank you for this topic and the info. Given that Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is available on both Battle.net and Steam, it was assumed that the campaign would work in offline mode on the latter. However, this is not the case, and a stable internet connection is required to run the campaign, even in Steam offline mode.
