I spent a good chunk of time yesterday trying to figure out how to make the Samsung Gear S3 Frontier (LTE verision) watch play I Heart Radio or Spotify independently from my Samsung Galaxy S8 phone. Everytime I go to play I Heart Radio on my watch, it opens and plays it on my phone.

Let me explain a little further: I have a Samsung Gear S3 Frontier, paired to my Moto Z2 Play, and here comes the first "issue". Samsung is not supporting my phone to be used with the Galaxy Wearable app, not even letting the user download it from the Play Store (even though they support older device that I owned, like the Moto G3 and the LG G3).

For the Gear S3: Install the Facer Watch Face Companion App and follow prompts to install the companion app on your phone then search for Zelda in the Facer app on you phone. For the Watch3: it came preloaded, called Activity Sparkles. Might be available to download since I have the option to delete it.
The custom ROM is designed for the Gear S3 Frontier (SM-R760), but should also work for the Classic model as well. The Wear OS app sees this custom ROM as a TicWatch Pro 3 instead of a Gear S3
You can also download apps to your watch from your phone using the Samsung Gear app > Samsung Galaxy Apps. Rotate the bezel to and select the Galaxy Apps app. Select the Search icon > enter the desired app name > Search icon > desired app. Select INSTALL. I had an S3 Frontier for a couple of years and the sensors (steps, sleep, heartrate etc) stopped working after an update a couple of months ago. Wouldn't be surprised if Samsung were intentionally bricking older S3 in order to drive sales to their new smartwatches. Anyway, I ain't bitin'.
I bought the Gear S3 Frontier at launch and I am still wearing it every day. Now I am trying to find reasons why I should upgrade this watch to a Watch 3, as the S3 is already some years old. Except for blood saturation measurement, I did not really see big upgrades or new features that justify the expenses. .
